The ancient city that thrived under different emperors, Gwalior is another famous attraction of Central India. People and Culture
The state of Madhya Pradesh located in the central part of the country of India is mostly inhabited by different tribal communities. The region also comprises of people belonging to the religions of Hindu, Muslims, Jains and Parsis.
The major occupation of people in Central India is agriculture. Many people from the tribal background are, nowadays, found to be working as a worker in factories or as a shopkeeper or street hawker.

Language Spoken
The Central India region is part of the Hindi belt, and Modern Standard Hindi is the predominant language. Other Hindi belt languages such as Chhattisgarhi are also common regionally. Besides these Indo-Aryan languages, the Munda-family language Korku is also spoken in Central India.
