The tiny island of Diu is often termed as mini Goa due to a beautiful string of beaches lined up here. People visit here to unwind at its serene sunbathed-beaches, catch the views of colourful fishing boats, spot beautiful vibrant birds and unwind in its cool ambience. In the past Diu was an important trading centre apart from being a key naval base.
Diu Fort
This grand imposing fort sits on the coast of the island. It was raised between 1535 and 1541 AD and is nestling with beautiful views of the sea on the three sides and a canal on the fourth. Travellers visit here to enjoy its deep rooted history apart from magnificent views of sea. The fort is home to a Light House and the Diu jail as well.
Fortress of Panikota
Fortress of Panikota is made of stone and stands right at the entrance of the creek. Travellers need to take a canoe or a motor launch to reach here. Gangeshwar Temple
Gangeshwar Temple is just 3 kms away from the Diu town in Fudam village. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and houses five lingas located in the centre of the rocks on the beach. It is said five Pandava brothers of the Mahabharata established these lingas during their exile.
Ghogla Beach
Ghoghla beach remains one of the most picturesque beaches in the north of Diu town. This is a perfect escape from the crowd and to spend some serene time amidst nature. Visitors can laze around the coastline, eat at restaurants nestling around and partake in various water sports available at the beach.
Naida caves
Naida caves can be spotted just outside the city wall of the Diu Fort. The caves house a big network of tunnels which has still not been explored fully. These caves have great road connectivity and thus, can be reached with ease.

By Air: Diu Airport links the city with rest of the country.
By Rail: The Veraval Railway station is the closest airport to Diu.
By Road: Regular bus services are available here to reach from Porbandar, Junagadh and Veraval.
