Lake Chilika
Chilika Lake is a wonderful destination to fall in love with the nature residing in Odisha.  This remains Asia’s largest brackish water lake covering an area of 1000 sq km. People visit here to relax and enjoy bird watching, fishing and boating.

Sun Temple
Sun Temple in Konark is perhaps the most significant religious place in the state. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Surya and looks like a 100-foot high chariot adorned with wheels and horses. The temple is built in a typical Odisha style of Hindu temple architecture.

Jagannath Temple
The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri is a significant Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath. This one of the four great 'Char Dham' is visited by pilgrims from all over the world. Here the annual Ratha Jatra is organised which beautifully brings out the vibrant religious beliefs of Indians.

Lingaraja Temple
The temple is dedicated to Shiva and it remains one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar. It is built in the Kalinga architecture and features

Daringbadi
The beauty of Daringbadi is no less than that of Kashmir.  It sits at a height of 3000 ft and remains the only place in Odisha where rainfall can be experienced. Ambience is serene here which gives you unmatched mental solace.

Beaches
Chandrabhaga Beach and Chandipur Beach are two most visited beaches of the state where you can have a whale of a time. These are best for family vacationers seeking whole family fun.

Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary
This place was declared a sanctuary on 4 January 1984. Since then, it has become a popular wildlife heaven adding to ecotourism in the state. Take a safari here and spot animals like cheetals, elephant herds, and Malabar. There is also a watchtower inside the sanctuary from where visitors can spot enjoy beautiful vistas of the nature sprawling around.

Similipal Biosphere
This is a national park as well as a tiger reserve in the Mayurbhanj district. It houses three protected areas - Hadgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, Similipal Tiger Reserve and Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary. It is the second largest national park of the country with abundance of flora and fauna. Around 1076 species of mammals, 29 species of reptiles and 231 species of birds reside here.

Shopping in Odisha
The local markets here brim with textiles and saris. Handloom weaving is the most common craft here.             Also, do buy Tarkasi, patachitra folk paintings, appliqué work, stone carvings and brass artefacts from Odisha.

The best time to visit Odisha is from November to February when most of the state’s festivals are celebrated. Weather also remains cool during these months for sightseeing. Summer season from April to June are hot and make sightseeing difficult. .

The only airport of Odisha is located in Bhubaneshwar connected with Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad through frequent flights.  Bhubaneshwar and Behrampore are the two railheads here accessible from Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai. The state also has road connections with all Indian states.
