Jampui Hills

Jampui Hills is a beautiful hill range in the North Tripura district of Tripura. The hills enjoy borders with the state of Mizoram. Jampui hills is home to 10 beautiful tiny villages where most of the locals belong to the Mizo community. Most of the people here speak Mizo, English and Bengali. The hills celebrate the famous Orange Festival as the hills enjoy orange plantation since the early 60s. Earlier people used to consume oranges but later they started selling them in markets. Orange gardens have been set up here by the locals for commercial purpose. Quality of these oranges is superb and they even won 1st position at fruits exhibition at New Delhi in the mid 80s.     

Jampui Hills can be reached by road from Dharmanagar and Kailashahar. People visit here to capture heart pleasing views of the setting and rising sun. There are numerous viewpoints here offering outstanding panoramic views of the valley. There is also a watchtower at the highest peak named Balinchhip which rises to a height of 3200 feet above sea level.

By Air: The nearest airport to Jampui Hills is Singerbhil Airport at Agartala.
By Rail: The nearest railhead to Jampui Hills is at Kumarghat which is at a distance of 76kms.  
By Road: Jampui hills is well connected by road to many nearby cities such as Kumarghat at 76 kms.
