Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary, Tripura

Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary is a serene wildlife hub in Tripura. It sprawls over an area of about 163.08 square kilometers. The Park was established in the year November 1988. The jungle is blessed with rich forest reserve and numerous patches of virgin forest reserve. Here numerous jeep safari tours are available apart from wildlife trips which take you deep into the jungle. It is a great place for school going kids, academicians, taxonomists, Botanists and environmentalists as it teaches you a lot about the flora and fauna of the region.

Rich Flora & Fauna
The Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary is counted among the most conserved forest reserves. It has a flourishing Bio-diversity which pleases all visitors. Bamboo Oxtenanthera Nigrocilliate is found here in abundance. Overall the park houses 230 varieties of trees, 400 varieties herbs, 110 varieties shrubs and 150 varieties climbers.   

Indian Gaur (Bison) remains the most popular animal here. Visitors can also spot various birds, Deer, Hooklock Gibbon, Golden Langur, Capped Langur and Pheasants during the jeep safari. Bird watchers can enjoy chirping of numerous resident and migratory birds.  Some of the most commonly found birds in the park include Pheasant tailed Jacana, Red Jungle Fowl, White breasted king Fisher, etc.

By Air:   Nearest airport to the Park is at Agartala, the capital city of Tripura.
