Phawngpui National Park, Mizoram

Phawngpui Blue Mountain National Park is a gorgeous wildlife heaven in the Lawngtlai district of Mizoram. It is one of the two national parks of India in the state. The National Park is also recognized with the name of Phawngpui National Park. It was declared as a National Park in 1992. It sprawls over an area of 50 Km2 and is visited by every devotee of wildlife. Visit here to enjoy a thin stretch of clouds covering it throughout the year.

The National Park was named after the mountain peak Phawngpui, the highest mountain peak in Mizoram. The peak rises to a height of 2157 meters. The national park sprawls over an entire mountain.

Rich Flora & Fauna
Here you can find some of the rarest species of flora and fauna, including orchids and rhododendrons, respectively. Take a safari experience amidst this beautiful paradise and spot Serow, Goral, Asiatic Black Bear, Slow Loris, Tiger, Leopard, Leopard Cat, Stump-tailed Macaque and Capped Langur. Bird watchers can take the pleasure of enjoying vistas of a great variety of birds like Blyth’s Tragopan, Dark Rumped Swift and Hume’s pheasant.

The flora of Phawngpui mostly includes grasses, orchids, trees of rhododendrons and oak. These together make Phawngpui Blue Mountain National Park look extremely beautiful.

The best time of the year to visit the Phawngpui Blue Mountain National Park is between the months of November and April.
