One of the famous temples of South India, the Palani Temple, is another must visit attraction of Kodaikanal. Dedicated to Lord Subramaniam, the temple reinforces the fact that spirituality doesn’t come easy. One needs to climb 659 steps to get to the temple.The festival of Thaipusam (January) and the festival of Panguni Uttaram (April) draws an ardent lot of tourists and pilgrims to the temple.
Best time to Visit
November to February marks the beginning of winter, and the average temperature ranges between 30°C and 8°C. Evenings are cold, especially in December and January.
March to May is the summer time in Kodaikanal and the temperature varies between 20°C and 34°C. It's a good time for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
June to September marks the monsoon season and can be tricky. However, the beauty of rains and fresh air is best felt during this period.
