It has two sub parts - Uchchi Pillaiyar Koil, a 7th Century temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha and the 6th Century Thayumanaswamy Temple built by Pallava King Mahendravarman I in which Lord Shiva is worshipped.
Agaya Gangai Waterfalls
Gushing down from a massive height of 300 feet, the Agaya Gangai Waterfalls is another beautiful attraction to see. Situated amidst Kolli Hills in the Eastern Ghats, the waterfalls can be reached through a trek or by climbing almost a 1000 steps.
St. Joseph's Church
Trichy is home to beautiful churches as well. The 18th Century St. Joseph's Church is considered among one of the oldest churches of India. It is located near Teppakulam which was built by Schwartz. Another church is St. John Church which was built in 1812. The white-painted church houses historic Christian monuments.
Brahmapureeswarar Temple
Another popular attraction here is the Brahmapureeswarar Temple, located in the Thirupattur area near Tiruchi. This revered Hindu temple is predominantly a Shiva temple, with a separate shrine for Lord Brahma. Goddess Parvathi is also worshipped in the temple.
