Ranchi is the capital of Jharkhand and is often known as the City of Waterfalls. Jamshedpur, the Steel City of India, is the biggest city in Jharkhand. This city was founded by Jamsedji Nusserwanji Tata. However, it is not just about steel industry. Here you can also explore some beautiful natural attractions like Dalma Hills, Jubilee Park, Jubilee Lake, Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, Hudco Lake, Tata Steel Zoological Park, Bhatia Park, etc.

Food of Jharkhand flaunts typical Indian flavours. Taste Litti Chokha made with Baigan Bharta (Chokha). Pitha is another popular dish served with Tomato Chutney. Handia is cooked in all local houses of Jharkhand. It is a mix of 20-25 herbs and boiled rice. Vegetarians must try Rugra prepared with a variety of vegetables.

Bamboo Shoots remain the staple food of the state. It has a unique taste and remains a main ingredient in many dishes. Dhuska, deep fried rice flour pancakes, is another common food here. For tasting some sweets, Thekua remains a great option. It is mostly prepared as Prasad during the Chatth Pooja.

Jharkhand is known for tribal handicrafts. They tell a lot about the state’s cultures and traditions. Paitkar paintings also make great souvenirs made by local artisans. Local markets also brim with stone carvings, bamboo works, wood craft, ornaments and metal work at great prices.   

How to Reach
Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi is the main airport linking the state with rest of the country.  Jharkhand has major railheads in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Dhanbad and Giridih. Road connection is also great from neighbouring states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Orissa.
