Shree Govindajee Temple, Manipur

Situated in the capital of the state, Imphal, Shree Govindaji Temple is frequented by streams of travellers all year long. This is the largest Hindu, Vaishnav temple in Imphal. The glowing golden structure of this sacred place draws many tourists apart from the regular local devotees. The famed temple of Shree Govindaji remains one of the major attractions of Manipur. This is a Hindu temple dedicated to deities of Hindu gods, Radha and Krishna Govinda.

History
It was originally established in the year 1846 during the rule of the Maharaja Nara Singh. The temple faced numerous damages in the past due to earthquakes; however, it still maintains its beauty.

Architecture
The temple complex flaunts an attractive architecture. It is made of red brick and has a rectangular medieval style of architecture which is worth cherishing. The main entrance leads to a passage which takes you into a hall with all the main statues. The temple rises to a height of 16.95 meters and is 18, 63 meters wide.
