One of the popular attractions here is the Badal Mahal. The Badal Mahal is located at the Southern end of the inner city near and facing the Jama Masjid. The Badal Mahal Gate is recognized nationwide as it is a popular monument in Chaderi, also, the Indian Postal Department issued a cancellation stamp for all posts leaving Chanderi, bearing the icon of Badal Mahal Gate.

Nizamuddin Tombs are also among the major attractions here. There are number of graves set in a walled compound with beautifully carved stones & patterns. Locals of chanderi believed that these tombs belong to 14th century Sufi saint, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya’s family.

It won’t be completely wrong to say that Chanderi is the centre of Jain culture. There are number of Jain places nearby attracting the devotees of Jainism for at least 900 years. With beautiful sites like Seronji, Deogarh, Sona giri, Boodi Chanderi etc, Chanderi is a major religious hub for Jainism. The very recent construction here is Sri Coubisi Temple which has its own fame & recognition & every year it attracts thousands of pilgrims.

Best time to visit Chanderi
The best season to visit Chanderi is the winter season. The temperature remains comfortable and is apt for visiting the places of interest in Chanderi. The best months to visit are October, November, December, January and March. Winters approach Chanderi in November and lasts till February.

By Air – The nearest Domestic Airport to Chanderi is the Gwalior Airport from the city, and is well connected with the cities like Delhi and Mumbai via Air India flight.
By Train – The nearest Railway Station is Lalitpur Railway Station, around 36 Kms from Chanderi.
By Road – Chanderi is well connected via Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (MPSRTC) and some private travel services.
