Kanha National Park

Created in the year 1955, the aim of Kanha National park was to save the natural tranquility of the wildlife animals. Being the largest National Park in Madhya Pradesh, the Kanha National Park houses not just the big wild cats, leopards, barasinghas, but also a huge variety of avifauna. A visit to the Kanha National Park is incomplete without visiting the Kanha Museum. The museum is under the authority of Forest Department and is the ideal place to get some information about the topography and other interesting aspects of the park. The major attraction of the museum is the evening sound shows which is a must see.

Another popular attraction here is Bamni Dadar. It is also known as the sunset point, and most tourist visit Bamni Dadar to get the wonderful view of the setting sun. Animals that can be sighted around this point are typical of the mixed forest zone: sambar, barking deer, gaur and the four-horned antelope etc.

Kawardha Palace is another major attraction near Kanha National Park. The palace waits to soak you in the royal ambience. Staying in Kawardha Palace is something which you must do if your pocket allows, in order to enjoy an imperial treatment.

Kanha’s Jungle Safari is also one major attraction of the national park. The safari offers an opportunity to sight animals in friendly setting. There is an open vehicle that takes people around the park, through the dense forest, to spot any small animal that might sneak into the meadows.

Best time to visit Kanha National Park
Kanha National Park is open for visitors from the 15th of October to till 30th of June. The peak season for Kanha National Park is during winters, between October to March. Most of the tourists visit the park between November and March, mainly because the summer's heat is unbearable.
