Kanha National Park is one of the major attractions of Madhya Pradesh, drawing wildlife enthusiasts from around the country. The National Park is best visited between the months of November to June, and boasts of being one of world’s finest wildlife retreats. The park is home to rarely found Swamp Deer and the Royal Bengal Tiger.

Another popular attraction of Madhya Pradesh is the Sanchi Stupa. One of the famous Buddhist shrines, the Stupa is famed for its ancient art and architecture, and is located at the town of Sanchi in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh.

The Gwalior Fort, perched on a hilltop near the city of Gwalior, is an architectural marvel. The defensive structure of the fort comprises two main Palaces, temples and water tanks. Another must visit attraction is the Man Singh Palace, built by the King Man Singh in the 15th century. With its amazing design, the Man Singh Palace reflects the true colours of Tomar dynasty.

Another famous attraction here is the Bhimbetka caves, which were declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2003. The caves exhibit the ancient art and rock-cut architecture of India, and are one of the perfect places for the art admirers. According to Hindu Mythology, the name of the cave is associated with ‘Bhima’, one of the Pandavas of Mahabharata. Further, it is believed that Bhimbetka cave was the place where Bhima and his brothers rested after being exiled from the kingdom.

Depending upon the theme of your holiday, Madhya Pradesh could be visited round the year. Weather wise, the best time to visit Madhya Pradesh is from October till March as the climate remains cool.
