Khajuraho Temples
Khajuraho is famed for its group of temples and monuments with unparallel architectural beauty, sculptures and erotic carvings. Most of the temples here were built between 900 AD and 1050 AD. During the 12th century, there were 85 temples, and now only 25 temples stand as one. An annual dance festival is also conducted in February or March. The temples of Khajuraho are famed for their erotic sculptures, and many of the surviving 22 temples are still in a remarkable state.
Bandhavgadh Wildlife Sanctuary
This is a popular retreat for wildlife lovers located on the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh. This sanctuary houses a rich collection of wild animals and bird’s species residing in the forests. The sanctuary is famous for its tiger reserve that is home to endangered white tigers. Consisting of varied flora and fauna, the wildlife sanctuary consists of tall sea grass and sai trees that dominate most of the land under the sanctuary. Bandhavgarh Fort located within the sanctuary is yet another attraction that lures tourists in large numbers.
Kanha National Park
The dense forests of Kanha National Park have endless opportunities to pamper you with unbeatable experiences. There are about 300 species of wild animals within the sanctuary, including leopards, Bengal Tiger, Sloth Bears, Deer’s and Wild Cats. The scenic beauty of this nature park cannot be compared to the other nature reserves that exist in Madhya Pradesh.
Sanchi
Standing as a testimony to the golden Buddhist age of Emperor Ashoka, Sanchi is synonymous to the masterpieces of Buddhist art revealed in the age-old Stupas, monasteries, temples, and monolithic pillars. The town of Sanchi is famed for its Buddhist Stupas, which were constructed on the orders of Emperor Ashoka to preserve and spread the Buddhist philosophy. Sanchi has been protecting these beautiful and sacred architectural wonders, just the way these wonders have been safeguarding ancient history and art of the Mauryan period.
